It’s no secret that baby skin is incredibly delicate. Babies are not born with a skin barrier, so they are not as protected against skin conditions as adults are. As a result, baby skin needs a little extra love. Products formulated for babies have extra-gentle formulas that help baby’s skin barrier develop properly. But can adults use baby products too? We say yes! Because they are extremely gentle, baby products also work well for adults with sensitive skin. In fact, the benefits of using baby products as an adult are numerous! Here are some of our favorite reasons to add a few baby-friendly items to your skin care routine.
Baby Products Teach You to Care for Your Skin
When you use baby products, you’ll begin to see changes in your skin. We’re talking less dryness, a smoother appearance, and significantly less irritation. As you use them more often, you’ll realize exactly what you were putting your skin through: harsh product after harsh product. We owe it to ourselves to have healthy skin. Baby products can help us get there.
You’ll Preserve Your Natural Oils
Many skin care products on the market for adults strip the skin of its natural oils. Enter gentle, baby skin care regimens that rebuild your skin barrier rather than tear it down. A stronger skin barrier allows for your natural oils to stick around and protect your skin like they’re supposed to.
You Can Use Them in Innovative Ways
Baby Powder
Baby powder helps to remove moisture from a baby’s bottom, so it can also be used to remove oil from your scalp in between washes. It’s a lot more gentle than most dry shampoos on the market and won’t dry out your scalp. But, we’ll warn you. Because baby powder comes in a loose, unpressurized form, it’s easy for the powder to get everywhere. It may take a lot of time to fully work the powder into your roots, but if you have the patience, it’s worth it. No more greasy hair? Yes, please!
Baby Oil
Baby oil is my personal favorite makeup remover. It’s extremely gentle on the skin, but tough enough to take off the most long-lasting eyeliners or liquid lipsticks. Plus, it lacks the harsh smell that’s present in many makeup removers, and one bottle lasts forever.
Baby Wipes
Okay, so this technically isn’t a skin care hack, but we’d like to include it here nonetheless. Baby wipes are excellent for cleaning. They remove dirt and grime, but don’t sting your skin like other disinfectant wipes. Plus, they smell more pleasant. We can definitely get on board with that.
Diaper Cream
Looking for your next indulgent moisturizer? Try diaper cream! Sure, it sounds silly, but diaper cream is great for preventing rashes. Its thick formula also moisturizes to perfection, minimizing your risk of skin conditions, such as psoriasis and eczema. Sounds good to us!
Whether you’re an adult looking to try out a few baby products or you just want to revamp your skin care routine, Sebamed can help. We offer a wide range of creams, washes, and skin care extras that suit people of all ages. Check out our full collection here.

I am an adult, and sebamed adult products are kind of scarce in my location, but the baby products are always in the nearest cosmetic store. Can I use the sebamed baby products instead? Are their side effects? I have a sensitive, flaky, dry skin.
Hi there 🙂 Thank you for your comment. You can definitely use our baby products on your skin. Many of our adult customers with sensitive skin actually prefer the baby products since they are extra gentle. Enjoy!
Hi Can I use sebamed baby cream extra soft and wash for my face?
Hi Aaron 🙂 Thank you for your comment. We’ve heard from many of our customers that they enjoy using the Baby Wash Extra Soft on their faces. As for the cream, it might be a bit too thick for the face. If you’d like to use a baby product for the face, we recommend our Baby Protective Facial Cream. Please check with your doctor or dermatologist before use just to be safe.
Sir sebamed baby shampoo is same as sebamed adult shampoo or not .
Hi Nikhil 🙂 Thanks for your comment! Our Baby Shampoo is not the same as our Everyday Shampoo. It’s a gentler formula that’s suitable for baby’s sensitive skin. Please let us know if you have any more questions! We’re more than happy to answer them 🙂
